Arash Derambarsh is a City Councillor for the City of Courbevoie, France, a position he has held since 2014. Additionally, he is a practicing lawyer at the Paris Bar. Derambarsh initiated legislation which became France’s food waste law when it was passed on February 3, 2016. Since the passage of the food waste law, over 10 million meals are distributed annually to associations and people in need, representing an increase of 22% in food donation. Derambarsh is the author of two books on the subject, “Manifeste Contre Le Gaspillage” and “Agriculteurs, les raisons d’un désespoir”. He holds Ph.D. in Law from the Sorbonne University.
