Christiane Lambert is the first female president of the Fédération nationale des syndicats d’exploitants agricoles (FNSEA), the National Federation of Farmers’ Union in France, and has almost 40 years of experience as a farm manager.
Lambert started her career in 1980 and made her way up through the ranks of the union of young farmers by becoming President of the CCJA of Massiac (1981-83), then Vice-President of the CDJA of Cantal (1982-88), and in 1986 President of the CRJA of Auvergne. In 1994, as CNJA President, Lambert was in charge of multifunctionality and the environment. She became President of the FARRE network in 2001 where she promoted an agricultural policy that contributed to the preservation of the environment. As President of FNSEA, Lambert promotes animal fair treatment, the empowerment of farmers through higher pay, and fair European competition.
