Dr. Katleen Gabriels is a moral philosopher, specialized in computer ethics. She is an Assistant Professor at Maastricht University. She researches the relations and co-shapings between morality and computer technologies. Previously Katleen was an Assistant Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). The Willy Calewaert-Chair 2018-2019 was awarded to her by the faculty Engineering Sciences of Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB).
She is the deputy chair of ETHICOMP and an affiliate member of 4TU Centre for Ethics and Technology. Gabriels is the author of two books on tech ethics: Regels voor robots. Ethiek in tijden van AI (October 2019, English version will appear early 2020, Rules for Robots. Ethics and AI) and Onlife (2016).
