Director at EuroHealthNet and expert in public health and health promotion. Costongs leads a highly experienced and multi-disciplinary team. She is active in many EU and WHO platforms such as the EU Joint Action on Health Inequalities (JAHEE), the WHO Coalition of Partners on strengthening public health services, and the International Council of the European Public Health Conference series. Having been at EuroHealthNet since 1999, she managed many EC co-funded projects on health inequalities, sustainable development, access to health services, healthy ageing, health in all policies, social inclusion and health promotion. Before she joined EuroHealthNet, she worked at the Netherlands Olympic Committee and Sports Confederation (NOC*NSF), where she set up and coordinated a national campaign on physical activity promotion for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Costongs also worked at the Health Institute of the Liverpool John Moores University where she did research on intersectoral collaboration for health as part of an EU FP4 project called CityHealth.

She holds a MSc in Public Health from the University of Maastricht.
