Karien van Gennip is CEO of ING Bank France, a position she has held since October 2015. She also serves as a Board member and Vice Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce. Previously, van Gennip was Director of Private Banking & Investments at ING from 2010 to 2015, as well as Director of Group Public & Government Affairs from 2008 to 2010. Before joining ING, van Gennip served as State Secretary of Economic Affairs and Minister for Foreign Trade in the Dutch government with responsibilities for bilateral and multilateral foreign trade, entrepreneurship, regional policy, investment climate, and consumer policy from 2003 to 2007. She sat as a Member of the Lower House of the Dutch Parliament from 2006 to 2008. Van Gennip also worked for the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM) from 2002 to 2003, after beginning her career with McKinsey&Company in 1994. She holds an MA from Delft University of Technology and an MBA from Insead. In 2008, she was elected Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
