Eileen Trauth is professor emeritus of information sciences & technology, and women’s, gender & sexuality studies at Pennsylvania State University. She has been a professor at Pennsylvania State University since 2001.

Her research, writing and outreach activities focus on barriers to inclusion in the information technology profession experienced by women and other marginalized groups. She has conducted research in Europe, Africa, the Asia Pacific, and the USA with grants from the Fulbright Foundation, the National Science Foundation, Science Foundation Ireland and the Australian Research Council. Her findings have been published in several books, hundreds of scholarly papers and a play, “iDream”.  Trauth has advised European Union gender projects, edited the Encyclopedia of Gender and Information Technology and founded the Association for Information Systems special interest group on social inclusion. Previously she has been a professor at Northeastern University.
