Geneviève Pons became the Director of the Jacques Delors Institute in Brussels in 2017. The Institute seeks to provide political analyses to European policymakers and citizens. Between 1991 and 1996 during Jacques Delors mandates as President of the European Commission, Pons served as his environment advisor. Following several high-profile roles in the Commission, she was appointed in 2013 Director of the Legal Service of the International Labor Organization. A leader in environmental advocacy Pons was Director of the European Office of the WWF between 2015 and 2017. She remains a prominent environment activist notably through her work with the Antartica2020 coalition who works to protect the marine life surrounding the Antarctic.
